Long-distance move from Anaheim, CA to Louisville, KY

Terrible experience

Liars, unsympathetic - said they were not brokers, turned out to be brokers. Spent thousands of dollars on a cross country move booked 8 months in advance. Told that the company they hired was known to break stuff and “misplace” items. We lost 25% of our items - they had no information, no contact for the other company, no resolution, no willingness to help us find our property. Disrespectful and ignorant of their own contracts. I will be suing.

Horrible service.

Do NOT work with them. They are NOT professionals, the guys came in flip flop in a rental truck.

Truck was already poorly packed by someone's stuff and you could ABSOLUTELY not differentiate between my stuff and the other person.

The truck was too small to fit all my stuff and when I asked how they were planning to do, the young guy looked lost and said they would pile things up. If admitted himself that some might get broken on the way.

It was so terrible that I refused to give them my stuff and canceled the move. BEST PART: the two young guys thanked me for not having to take my stuff because they said everything you would have broke and they didn't know how they would have fit all of that in the truck..

Obviously, they are now refusing to reimburse me, not answering anymore emails or phone calls. BE WARE OF THEM.

Good Job.

U.S. Standard Moving & Storage Corp team was amazing and definitely made our stressful moving situation more pleasant for us. Movers are of good nature and work passionately without refusing anything to do. I used them for two recent moves, and have been very impressed. Both moves were extremely smooth and pain-free. The movers are very nice, helpful, and careful with my belongings.

Nightmare!!

WATCH OUT ! They cancelled my move the morning after hey were supposed to arrive, then tried not to refund my deposit after the mover they contracted with, David at +1 (818) 402-3139 Call Me Van Lines, texted me at 8:30pm the night before my scheduled move and said that he wouldn’t come unless I paid him more money for my upright piano. However I had already contracted for that piece and he wanted to be paid directly for it saying “what you paid isn’t enough, I’m not coming unless you pay me more”. This is absolutely illegal and extortion. He then canceled the next day. Customer support was combative and unapologetic, Ashley the customer support Supervisor hung up on me, and even got angry with me. Leanne in their sales department sold me on professional and competent service, and clearly they allow their contracted movers to take advantage of their clients. I’ve filed a complaint and will continue to make sure other people don’t get take advantage of. I was lucky I could find a mover at the last minute, but I’m sure other people face this type of illegal activity.

**MOVER BEWARE!! PLEASE READ FOR YOUR SAFETY!! SCAM ALERT!!**

**MOVER BEWARE!! PLEASE READ FOR YOUR SAFETY!! SCAM ALERT!!**

This company is a "BROKER". They will not be the ones moving you. They hire the cheapest company they can find to do the work. That company will hold your items RANSOM… Yes, I said RANSOM, until you pay them triple the original agreed upon amount.

This is a SCAM alert and all of the positive reviews on this site are FAKE!! They are under investigation with the Better Business Bureau. Read at the link listed below.

https://www.bbb.org/us/fl/miami/profile/moving-brokers/us-standard-moving-and-storage-corp-0633-90562591

I just hope that this review is read by everyone who looks at this company, because this is a review that I wish I would have seen before booking this FRAUD of a company.

Please see all pictures of broken and damaged items.

They will not be moving your stuff. They will hire a company to do the work, and that company will SCAM YOU!!

BEWARE – Do not trust anything that Travis Scott (Sales) or Ashley (customer service manager).

Ok, if you read all of that hopefully you will read this… Here is my story.

Travis Scott sold us a $2,600 package that included… Full packing service with 5 people, everything wrapped and labeled, everything staged in the new house, all boxes put in their correct rooms. He said that the movers would be here on the day needed.

Here is what we got… 2 people that didn’t speak any English, didn’t have any boxes or packing materials, did not label anything and did not show up the day of the move! They literally did not show up until 1.5 days later.

They broke my tv, my computer monitor, lots of other stuff not pictured here. This is all AFTER they held my items RANSOM in their truck until I paid them TRIPLE the original cost of $2,600.

I did finally pay them to get my stuff, because they literally looked like they would hurt me and my family if I didn’t. They did everything but pull a knife or a gun.

After I paid them, they just piled everything into the garage as you can see in the picture. To top it off they ran over my mailbox and drove away.

When I called to tell the customer service “manager” Ashley (wouldn’t provide her last name). She told me to sue them and hung up on me. Some customer service, right?

So, I took her advice and I am currently looking to sue for damages and hopefully get some money back, or at least prevent them from doing this to anyone else.

In closing – This is literally the worst company I have ever worked with and I really hope you pick another company to do your upcoming move.

DO NOT ISE

Would give zero stars if I could. Nothing they promised happened. Movers doubled the price when they arrived, and of course, wanted cash! Didn’t deliver on time and most all was broken. Claim filed and was awarded $39 for everything broken! And they didn’t even pay that!

DO NOT USE! They are brokers who hire unprofessional movers and their customer service people are rude and hang up on you, IF they answer to begin with.

BROKERS WHO HIRE THUGS

BEWARE! They are brokers. YOU DON'T KNOW who will show up at your front door. We got Stop and Move LLC. All of their horrendous reviews are TRUE! This shell of a business took cash-only payments via mobile phone by threatening to auction off our items for storage payment, threatened to drive off with our items if we didn't pre-pay and pre-sign the BOL, delivered crushed, broken open boxes and damaged furniture, and did not leave the BOL to file damage claims.

It was US Standard who erroneously authorized an early delivery of our items when we had no house to put it in! Our items are now piled in the middle of a living room. Although after reading other reviews, it sounds like we were lucky to get our items!

US Standard is who we contracted with. They have not helped us with resolving any of the issues. US Standard has a slew of complaints. The good reviews must be because they DID NOT USE Stop and Move LLC, which is run by a thug.

THEY ARE A BROKER

From the initial phone call they were very polite because they are sales people. We did a facetime for the inventory.

The final bill for moving was twice the price of the quote. Tried to call them the day the moving company came to load up but it was a Saturday and I had to leave a message. Another moving company showed up picked up the furniture brought it to a warehouse where it sat for a week until another company took the load to the final destination. Save yourself some headache and go with a big company because you will pay the same amount and get your furniture in a timely matter. I had a quote from a big company that would have ended up a little less than we paid and the actually came out and did a inventory but unfortunately we chose the lower price quote.

Worst experience I have ever had

Everything is a lie. Jeffery Thomas lied about move lied to police, said they were hacked and never booked us. They lied a half dozen times about delivery dates. Said they were a moving company and they are brokers who hire the shit cheap movers they can find. It took 3 months to get our stuff delivered and half of the tubs and boxes were crushed and damaged. Some were destroyed and our stuff missing. We had a mattress, dresser, desk, lawn mower and several other pieces missing. 3 tables and several pieces of furniture, 50" plasma tv and new laptop were damaged. Never answer the phone or return calls. Will only give you .60 cents a pound for missing items. Whole move cot $10000.

Worst experience I've ever had!! At this point I feel like I was lied to. They lied on the ability to change the estimate if you take less stuff and they lied about the delivery. US Standard Review.

All dates quoted were met.

Amount quoted was $2200. Amount paid was almost $4000. I felt like they quoted the number I wanted to hear to win my business. The ultimate amount paid wasn’t even close.

The man who quoted me originally said he would be there to walk me through any issues at any time. I called and emailed him several times and he never returned my call.

I will never broker a move again and I suggest no one ever does, especially with this company.

Terrible communication.

The WORST experience I've ever had. No communication. Told me several different drop off dates for my things after having to call serveral times, making it take longer and longer. After several drop off dates I was informed they can take up to 15 days. I was never told this by anyone at any point in my transaction until several days after my original drop off date wasn’t met. They jacked up the price on the day of the move with a completely different contract with completely different pricing. I was never informed the contract they wrote out and had me sign was completely pointless because the actual moving company makes their own and they are just the broker. Rude moving men, who were also 20 minutes late past their 5 hour window with no call. No customer service. I Will NEVER use or recommend this company. I was assured by the sales representative that none of this would happen and ALL of it did. Thanks TRAVIS SCOTT for being a liar and a crook!

We had a scheduled estimate for 9 am, the company did not contact my husband that the driver was running late, he had to reach out to them. He called them at 9:30 and asked for the ETA on the driver. The snarky reception said she would call back and give him an update. Bad.

Watch out for the bait and switch. I didn't and it cost me my $650.00 deposit. Let me explain. I called them looking for a cost to move a full 26 foot box truck of our belongings to another state 160 miles away. I repeated my need a number of times but the guy only wanted to know about the inventory. They sent me a quote I thought was for the requested full truck. I failed to see the quote was for a quarter full truck and I add the quote. Then a guy called to go over the job and it became clear that the quote was not for a full truck. I asked for a refund because of the deception and was told there was no refund. It is my belief they are crooks.

Deceptive.

I called them on February 8th to get a quote to move a full 26ft moving truck(4 bedroom home). The sales person confused me by taking about inventory. He sent me a quote and I failed to see that it was only for 395cubic feet and not 1700 cubic feet. So a couple of days later another person called again to talk about inventory at which time I finally became aware of the deception. I then asked for my $650.00 deposit back and was told that there was no refunds. This is a horrible way to treat a senior citizen. I would not recommend this company. This was a lot of money for two seniors to lose.

Avoid this company.

They will quote a price, get a down payment to lock you in, then give a completely different price. Then as they are the broker and not the actual moving company, the people who do show to move you will give you a completely different price. Of coarse they won’t show up until after American Standards working hours so you can not resolve this new price until the next day, at which point they already have your things and have you trapped. This company is a complete scam, do business with them at your own peril.

Hired this company in March was scheduled to move on 4/9/2020. Was told we would recieve a call from dispatch between 3 pm and 5 pm THE DAY BEFORE . It was 445 pm I called they still had no movers lined up and had ZERO info on my move. I called the "sales" guy that booked my move got no response until I told him I was stopping payment on my deposit. I got a call at 630pm telling me they booked a company and they couldn't arrive until 4/10. We closed on house on 4/9 and had to vacate. The moving company they contracted was a HORRIBLE company the reviews ranged from loosing things, stealing things, not showing up, flea bags etc etc. I immediately called my bank canceling the deposit since obviously my services were not rendered not to my satisfaction. I would NOT recommend this moving company to my dead dog. They were so unprofessional after they got the deposit, no communication. Horrible HORRIBLE!!

BUYER BEWARE THIS COMPANY IS A BROKER THE DO NOT HAVE THEIR OWN TRUCKS OR DRIVER THEY WILL SCAM YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY.

I spent weeks working with Anthony delmarco who seemed like a respectable person and related to me letting me know I should have peace of mind since I was sinking my last dollar into this move and had no more money for hidden or surprise fees also assured me that they would not broker my move to another company and I could trust us standard and moving because they use their own trucks and drivers two and a half hours after my scheduled pickup window and random moving company in a Penske truck shows up at 9:30pm and try’s to take my wife my self and my four children’s furniture without even looking to make sure everything was what was on the contract is what was being picked up so after going through my inventory list with him I showed him how I was expecting to under my allotted cu sq ft because I was leaving 4 dressers and was under my box count by 3 boxes only to find out that the binding not to exceed agreement of 567 cu sq ft was a lie and the random mover who eyeballed my furniture to get a corrected estimate of 1358 cu sq ft so I did the correct thing per contract I called and emailed within 72 hours If giving my 600 dollar deposit to cancel but Anthony was and has been no where to be found since this whole insistent and the “customer service manager” (Ashley pence) was so rude and unprofessional let me know that because I cancelled on site and didn’t let them take my furniture I was would not be recovering my deposit back.

Lousy service and communication.

If I could give lower than 1 star I would. They charged $2000 more than their initial estimate. They didn't communicate that the movers they contracted with wouldn't take a credit card so we weren't prepared to make the final payment which caused lots of stress and delay! They didn't list several items on the initial list so that when the movers arrived they weren't prepared to take them and it added cost! They kept stalling as we tried to talk to the supervisor ("I can't make that decission", "supervisor is not here, is busy.."). Very disgusted with this company!

Horrible!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! It’s been 4 months since our move and we’re missing 2/3 of our belongings! They underbid And then charged us TWICE the bid. They contracted out our move to an illegitimate business that has now literally STOLEN 2/3 of our things and all they do is try to call the business’ number that we’ve tried to call ourselves. They are unresponsive, we have to answer the same questions every time they call because they don’t update their notes and they’re rude! They aren’t going to do anything to contact the other company (that hasn’t responded to our calls or theirs for over 2 months!!) except place more useless calls and they’re not even going to compensate us for our things. They are just as bad as the crooks that they sent to our door. I’m beyond horrified at the lack of follow through, the run around, the unanswered calls and emails and how rude they are if they answer the phone at all. We’ve had to turn to legal council at this point. SERIOUSLY, steer clear of this bogus company!!

Long-distance move from Detroit, MI to Nashville, TN

The positive reviews are FALSE!! They're brokers not movers!!

I flew from Nashville to Detroit to meet the movers and give them access to my storage/home. I made a $500 down payment w/ Ray and informed him that the move would happen best on Friday as my storage closed @ 3pm on Saturday . The mover then called stating they'd need to use my back up day of Sat., so I called them back to remind them that the storage closes at 3 pm. They assured me they'd be there between 12 and 2 pm. They never arrived. I called them multiple times between 12 and 2 but didn't get a call back until 4:30 pm, over an hour after the storage closed. If they'd called during the time designated and simply told me they were late I would've moved my items onto the street and waited for them, but I'd soon learn that their communication/professionalism as a company is AWFUL. The call back also came from a company I'd never heard of. They offered to wait until Sunday but I was scheduled to fly back Sunday morning. When I complained Veronica apologized but proceeded to literally become rude and insulting and to blame my storage unit for closing early. I had to complain to the BBB before they offered $175 in discounts which basically applies to my new flight BACK up to Detroit for a 2nd ATTEMPT at a move. I was still trying to complete my move despite their failures but they haven't returned my calls, voicemails nor texts in 5 days. Looks like they scammed me out of $500. When you complain they're going to stick to how their contract to justify how they mistreated you! Don't just check the reviews here! Go to the better business bureau site for more accurate accounts!

Long-distance move from Delaware to Florida

Bad experience.

First off, this is not a moving company, they’re a broker. I moved a one bedroom townhome from Delaware to Florida. The process started off great, my salesperson, Michael, was very proactive and persistent. We got through the initial quote and I was feeling good about things. He said “I will be your point of contact for everything about this move” - great, I thought. Well, after the sales guy closes the deal, he disappears, then I get to deal with “customer service.” My first interaction with customer service was trying to lock down my delivery date. I request June 1, the CS person tells me “that’s not possible, it’ll be 7-10 days after pickup and you’ll have to ask your driver when they will deliver, I can’t tell you.” Great, I have no idea when my stuff will be delivered. Pickup was scheduled on May 30 between 3 and 6pm. 6pm rolls around and no communication at all, no call from the driver. I left multiple messages on the customer support line since they aren’t staffed on the weekend. Around 7 the driver calls and says he’ll be there tomorrow (May 31) morning. They show up and after an hour of counting boxes and comparing to my original estimate, my price triples!! I should have probably canceled but they kind of had me hostage. After packing I ask the driver when I could expect delivery. He said he had no idea. The delayed pickup caused me to miss my final walk through and closing on 6/1. The 7-10 day estimate fro delivery was off. It took 12 days and I didn’t find out when it was going to be delivered until the driver called me the day before. My actual moving company, US Movers, wasn’t bad. The pickup and delivery crew were pretty good. The truck was horrible. It was an older semi that had been recycled through several moving companies. There was rust on the top that caused the roof to leak so a bunch of items were wet. I have a few broken items and one missing item. I will file a claim but who knows how that will go. To sum it up… The sales guy disappears after he locks up the sale. The customer service group is useless. Your price WILL go up. They can’t tell you when your stuff will be delivered. The jury’s out on how successful I’ll be filing a claim.

Long-distance move from Pullman, WA to Sarasota, FL

Stress.

This experience was the most difficult moving experience I have ever had. I have moved cross country three times, and this by far was the worst experience I have ever had. The positive reviews are very misleading. This company will call and text you daily (multiple times a day) and make you feel like you can trust them/you are getting a great deal. They will tell you what you want to hear to get your business (and deposit) and then they pass you on to someone else - and don't even give you the contact information to talk to someone! I had to do a lot of digging to find out who exactly had my stuff. This is not a moving a company as they claim to be - they are a broker that outsource. I had been told that they had a truck already scheduled in WA at the same time I was moving, and it was perfect because my move to FL would get them back to home base. This was not the case. I even made my move date to help accommodate this. They were supposed to pick up my belongings and bring to storage in FL - where I was told that I would have access to the storage unit. My items ended up in Portland, OR. When I called customer service they said I had been misinformed about the storage and to talk with the agent I worked with. I call the agent I worked with, he reassured me this was incorrect and would contact customer service to get this fixed. Didn't hear back from him so I texted to ask. He told me the information from customer service was accurate. I expressed my concerns via text with him - and got no response. From there I scheduled my delivery as I was worried about where my items were. Was told there were no guarantees as to when my items would arrive. It took close to a month for items to be delivered. My items got here yesterday, with a ton of damage. I also am missing items. I was told I needed to pay via postal money order and that I needed to pay balance before they would unload the truck. Avoid yourself the headache - they are great salesman on the phone. The pricing is also a total scam. They will lie about how they price things out and then charge you a deposit so that you are stuck. I was quoted at $3200, and it ended up costing $5000. I had been told as well the price would be adjusted based on the space used - it was not. Save yourself the stress and do not take their calls.

Long distance move.

The reviews were primarily the reason for choosing U.S. Standard moving. David the sales rep was helpful and assured me that the estimate process was pretty accurate. However once he took the deposit, that's the last I've heard from him. Our estimate was $4013.31. When the SUBCONTRACTOR came he told me it would be $10,000!! This was after I had removed a 700lb safe that was in the estimate. I complained showed the driver my estimate, complained some more. He went back and forth, like a vacuum salesman and said he could do it for $8944. I felt like a hostage at this point. I needed my stuff moved and I was on a timetable. Now fastforward to the unloading. Now I have to have $3250 in cash in order to get my stuff unloaded. Again I'm held hostage if I want my stuff. After going through all my boxes, I have stuff missing, broken etc. I contact U.S Standard (who I hired) they immediately pass me off to the claims department for the subcontractor, who I find out has no authority to be moving!! What!! I contact US Standard again. They say they're waiting for the new claims information from the carrier, they'll get back to me. That's been over 2 weeks and still nothing. I'm dumbfounded by the complete lack of responsibility in all of this. They apparently got their money and don't care about the customer AT ALL.

Do Not Hire us Standard Moving And Storage.

Please do not hire this company. I, like many others writing these reviews, was given a quote of approximately $3300. About four days before my move I got a phone call to confirm and they nearly doubled my price to just under $6000. They showed up at my house with the truck too small to hold my stuff. I got on the phone quickly to try to resolve the issue. No one was helping me. While on the phone the movers took off. Luckily I did not get any of my stuff on the truck. After dealing with them and reading the reviews I’m truly convinced this is a bait and switch company, that asks for more and more money. They hold your goods hostage until you keep paying more money. These people should be arrested.
